Phonetics

On Monday I started helping the language survey team at ICC. I'm helping the Khmer team memebers learn phonetics.

They need to learn how to take word lists, so to be able to hear a sound and know how to write in down in a standard way. We've got some books to work from, its fun to be studying this again. And hopefully it will be good for my Khmer too, I'll have to look at the way Khmer sounds are made so might be able to speak more clearly.

The office is in a part of town that is new to me, so it's been fun to get to know a new place and meet new people.
