The other week I was talking to a Khmer Bible school student. I was amazed to hear their story of how they ended up studying here. In a country where so many people are so poor, choosing to study at a Bible school,  rather than a place with a paid job at the end is a big deal.

I think there can be family pressure to do something useful, one family members income effects the whole family.
The student told me they had chosen to study the Bible even though it was a bad decision financially. They are trusting God for provide for them.
After the conversation I checked my email.  Someone in Australia has a few hundred dollars to give to this student.  After catching up with the student this morning and hearing about the bad weekend they had, it was a joy to tell them some money is waiting for them!
