Yesterday we had a girl cook for us in the morning. Many expats have househelpers here and this year we started getting this girl to sweep and mop our floors. As of yesterday we 're starting to have her go to the market and cook as well.

She made chicken and ginger stir fry for lunch yesterday. Its a khmer dish but we asked her to make it in a way that I like- using "pure meat" rather than bits with bones etc in. Ususlly khmer dishes they cut up the whole chicken so each bit you get in your stir fry has some meat but also bones and stuff in it. She also used less ginger than the khmer- i think of ginger as a seasoning, but in this dish its more like a veggie. You end up munching through many mouthfuls of ginger.

I'm still getting used to having people in the house, but its good to have help.

Also yesterday we had yet another family look through the house, 3rd one since we've been back less than a week ago. When you're trying to work out sleeping and feeding with a newborn and still unpacking its not very nice to have strangers walking through and watching and letting mossies in the door! Its also quite unsettling as it means we may have to move ina month or so, but we don't know yet, just have to wait to be told. Its been like this all year.
