I had a friend over around lunch time- while we were talking she suddenly said out of the blue "someone  just died!" She could here the monks chanting and the start of the funeral things starting. Later I went out to see the tent in the street- it was so noisy inside and even louder outside. I saw people dressed in formal clothes and carrying plates of uncooked rice with money it it. Soeun said these are to put near the body, so they have what they need for the next life or something. It was a 20- somethng year old who died.

When Soeun came home (he spends all Saturday at church) he was shocked to hear the noise and see the tent. Before even saying hello he asked me who died.

The noise is still going, not sure when it is going to end.
