This morning we woke up late, so had to rush to get in the tuk tuk on time..getting ready involved cleaning up Baby wee from the floor..
And the service was very action packed. A group was visiting from the USA and Malaysia, as well as some from a near by country. usually everything from the front is all in Khmer language but today it was translated into ENglish and another asian langauge- it took a long time and was amusing.
The preacher said somethng in his language and his people responded (laughed/ amen! /etc), then it was translated into Khmer and all the Cambodians responded... and then into English and the Malaysians and Americans responded. Amusing! and the preacher was quite animated so that made it more amusing as he had not one, but two people following him and copying him.
During the prayer time Soeun did the Khmer and ENglish (my first time to hear him speak English at church) and young guy did the other language. I was kind of confused at first as that same young guy did the Khmer translation for the sermon (he switched languages) and an older guy, who had been doing the other asian lang during the testimonies was doing the english during the sermon.
The testimonies were given by Englihs speakers (USA and Malaysia) then a Khmer guy did the Khmer trans, then another did the other language. It looked like they were playing Chinese whispers! (Although they weren't speaking Chinese- although some of the malaysian were chinese!)
Baby needed 2 nappy changes during the service, and some floor cleaning... him and i left when our tuk tuk came 2.5 hours after the serivce started. Normally the service is over by then but was still going when we left. Came home and put all our clothes in the wash- they had yellow slime on them!
