Day 77 of the flooded roads

Mud and no mask

Last night it rained really heavily, which meant the road this morning was even deeper than usual, and the school campus has flooded again.

Also this morning the mud was the sticky-slippery like the day I fell (see “Coffee and mud”). It s different mud to the sloshy mud, and different to the sinking mud which eats shoes and different from the just plain slippery mud.
When I ride my bike I often wear a mask to protect my face from sun, dust etc. Today I didn’t wear it. While I was riding the vehicle beside/in front of me wound down its window and stuck an arm out. The arm flicked its cigarette ash right into my face! If only I had my mask on.

Riding in the rain
Just as I was about to leave to go home it suddenly started pouring- it was so loud! So I put on my purple rain coat and ventured out. Its quite exhilarating riding in the rain. Everyone is wearing the brightly coloured disposable raincoats, water is coming down from the sky and being splashed up from below.

At one point, where there wasn’t much water on the road I saw a frog stretched out, maybe it was dead already, but it didn’t looked squashed. Anyway, I saw it too late and ran right over it. An unpleasant bump.
Can you see me in the photo below? I actually wanted to stand a bit further back where the water is deeper, but I didn't know how to explain how to use the camera, so I would have been just a dot.
This photo I took while I was riding. I was in the school grounds so I wasn't in danger of having a traffic accident. But it was a bit hard riding with one hand when I couldn't see what pot holes were coming up. But no cameras or bikes were harmed in the taking.
