A tree fell down

Over the last week or so its become a habit to go outside as soon as I wake up, the water level changes everyday. This morning when I checked I saw that a tree had fallen down. I went inside and asked Soeun if he heard any wind last night. Neither of us did so I thought it was weird this tree fell down. But apparently these trees don't like too much water in their roots, and everything is water logged around here.
Another thing to notice in the above photo is the huge expanse of dry cement. We haven't seen it like this since Sunday night.
Even though the there are no classes next week due to the flooding, at least one student came back today from her province. She comes from the same place as Soeun, and his mum sent some food with her for us. Above you can see a jar of small fish with salt, and below is some more preserved fish out in the sun drying. A common sight in this country.

Its been really cold and overcast today. And the water is even less brown and even more green today. But it still looks so nice from our front porch! In this photo you can see Lake Car Park, and our half dry path.

Toady was meant to be the first day back at work, but too much flooding for people to get here. However, Soeun and I can still do our work, he has plenty to do and for me there is always more language study to do.
